Make-Up of the Day | MOTD – Drugstore Smokey Eye

Image

Hello there! I thought I would do a quick post showing the make-up I wore to go out for dinner yesterday night! Sorry about the photo quality – my camera battery wasn’t charged and so I had to use my phone camera which has a questionable quality – hmm.

I wore a purple lace skater dress and a silver statement necklace. I wanted a warm make-up and so I didn’t want to use silver or grey shades but also didn’t want to clash my makeup colours with my jewellery so I used a very light, subtle gold colour.

These pictures were taken when I got back from dinner so overall the make-up was really quite long-lasting as I didn’t touch it up or tweak it at all! MUA you have impressed me (though the fallout was a bit of a nightmare).

This is my first post with pictures of myself as I am quite self-conscious of putting pictures of myself up here so please be kind! Haha

Summer Nails | From Nudes to Brights

Image

I’m sat here with my nail polish collection finding it difficult to chose just a few beloved nail polishes but finally I’ve narrowed it down to my 9 most used shades for summer. From nudes to brights, nails make a statement, they make you look more polished and with the right shade can brighten up your day. Golds and Neons do a great job of showing off your tan, nudes can make your hands look ten times more glamorous and brights can add something to a terribly average outfit.

Smokey Eyes; a Never Ending Trend.

For me, there’s nothing better than a winged out smokey look. By using warm colours, like gold and brown, rather than blacks it creates a less harsh look without sacrificing the dramatic edginess a smokey look can give.
